OPPO India has started rolling out the ColorOS 16 July Update for eligible smartphones, introducing new fingerprint customisation options, camera features and system improvements. The latest update adds fingerprint unlock customisation, new camera filters, Contact Poster preview support, smoother multitasking animations and Face Unlock enhancements.
Custom fingerprint unlock personalisation
The update adds new fingerprint unlock animations and icon styles, allowing users to mix and match different combinations to personalise their device’s unlock experience.
New camera filters
The native Camera app now includes two new filters:
- Primrose
- Bold B&W
The new filters provide additional shooting options for portraits and monochrome photography directly from the Camera app.
Contact Poster preview
ColorOS 16 now lets users preview and customise Contact Posters before assigning them, allowing users to personalise how they appear during calls.
Performance and Face Unlock improvements
The update introduces smoother transition animations when launching and switching between apps from the Recent Tasks screen, improving the multitasking experience.
It also adds support for a backup face profile for Face Unlock, allowing users to register a secondary face profile that can be useful when wearing glasses or makeup. The feature is available under:
Settings → Security & privacy → Device unlock → Face & fingerprint unlock → Face → Add backup face

The update also includes:
- General system refinements for improved stability.
- Performance optimisations for better overall responsiveness.
