Vodafone Idea (Vi) is accelerating its 5G network rollout across Madhya Pradesh, building upon its earlier network deployments in Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior. The telecommunications operator announced today the commercial launch of its 5G services in three additional cities: Jabalpur, Satna, and Sagar.
These locations serve as vital regional economic hubs, combining major industrial, trade, educational, and administrative functions:
- Jabalpur: Functions as a principal administrative, judicial, and tourism center for the state.
- Satna: Serves as a major industrial and religious destination, widely recognized as the “Cement City of India.”
- Sagar: Acts as an essential regional center for higher education and industrial development.
Due to the rising demand for high-speed mobile data in these key urban centers, this expansion phase marks a strategic step in enhancing the region’s overall digital infrastructure.
National Footprint and Infrastructure Deployment
With this latest addition, Vi’s 5G services are currently active across 225 towns and cities nationwide. Following initial rollouts in key metropolitan markets—including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru—the operator is progressively expanding coverage across all 17 of its priority telecom circles where it holds spectrum.
To support this deployment, Vi has collaborated with global network equipment vendors, including Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung. The infrastructure integration incorporates AI-powered Self-Organizing Network (SON) technology designed to dynamically manage and optimize network speeds, latency, and reliability.
Service Offerings
To complement the network expansion, the operator has introduced specific consumer plans. Vi users can access the Vi Non Stop Hero ₹3,749 Pack, which includes unlimited data and voice calls with a 365-day validity period.
The plan is structured to function seamlessly across both 4G and 5G networks, ensuring continuous connectivity regardless of whether it is accessed via a 4G or 5G-capable handset.
Commenting on the expansion, Kavita Nadkarni, Business Head – Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Vodafone Idea, said:
We are accelerating the expansion of Vi’s 5G network across Madhya Pradesh as we strengthen our footprint across key markets in the state. Following our 5G launches in Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior, our rollout in Sagar, Satna and Jabalpur marks an important milestone in this journey. Our expansion is guided by a clear focus on prioritising high-demand locations – spanning high data consumption centres as well as areas with significant footfall, including commercial hubs, academic centres and tourist locations – ensuring a consistent and enhanced network experience for our users.
