ASUS has confirmed the launch of the ASUS Pad (T3201) as a comeback to the tablet market after it was introduced last month. The tablet runs Android 16 and is engineered to serve as an ultra-portable option for multimedia entertainment, productivity, and creative workflows.
Design and Portability
The ASUS Pad features a slim 6.5mm profile and weighs 523 grams. Built with a fiberglass rear panel, the tablet’s form factor is designed for easier transport during daily commutes, travel, or remote work environments. To assist with out-of-the-box protection, ASUS includes a protective folio case that shields the device from scratches and drops. The front flap of the case can be folded into a stand supporting four distinct viewing angles for hands-free utility.
Display and Audio Capabilities
A central feature of the tablet is its 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display, which utilizes a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. The screen delivers a 2.8K resolution (2800 x 1840), a 144Hz refresh rate, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Optimized for use in varying lighting conditions, the panel provides a typical brightness of 600 nits and can reach a peak brightness of 2000 nits. It also holds TÜV certifications for Low Flicker and Low Blue Light to reduce eye strain.
For audio performance, the tablet is equipped with a quad-speaker system (8Ω/1W x 4) integrated with Dolby Atmos® 360° Cinematic Sound, aiming to provide balanced dialogue and surround audio for music, movies, and gaming.
Performance and Hardware Specifications
Under the hood, the ASUS Pad is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, clocking speeds up to 3.35 GHz. The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM to manage multitasking and application processing.
The device is backed by a 9,000mAh lithium-polymer battery. According to the company, the included 45W power adapter can charge the battery from 0% to 50% within 30 minutes.
Software and Connectivity Features
Running on the latest Android 16 operating system, the tablet includes built-in software tools such as Google’s Circle to Search, allowing users to look up information instantly by highlighting items on screen without exiting their active app.
For workflow integration, the tablet supports GlideX software. This tool enables cross-platform file sharing and collaborative workspaces between the tablet and external personal computers or smartphones, bridging Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS via wired USB or wireless Wi-Fi setups. Additionally, the touchscreen supports the ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus and compatible Bluetooth keyboards for users requiring precise input for note-taking or sketching.
