IIT Delhi’s IHFC, Milagrow Humantech, and BotDynax sign MoU for indigenous consumer robotics

In a significant step towards strengthening India’s capabilities in robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and deep-tech innovation, Milagrow Humantech, BotDynax Robotics, and the Innovation Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC)—the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi—signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The partnership aims to jointly develop next-generation indigenous robotic technologies and AI-powered consumer solutions.

The collaboration will focus on the research, development, and commercialization of technologies for robotic floor cleaners and other emerging robotic product categories. The joint initiative places a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, data security, and affordability for Indian consumers.

As robotics transitions from software-driven automation into the era of Physical AI (intelligent machines interacting with the physical world), these systems are increasingly becoming integrated into homes, workplaces, and public environments. Through this partnership, the participating organizations aim to create world-class robotic products engineered specifically for Indian conditions while reducing dependence on imported technologies and foreign software ecosystems.

Advancing India’s Robotics Ecosystem

Under the arrangement, the R&D wing of Milagrow Humantech will work closely with IHFC and its ecosystem of incubated startups and technology ventures to develop secure indigenous technologies.

Modern robotic devices, such as robotic floor cleaners, rely on sophisticated software, mapping systems, AI algorithms, multiple sensing technologies, and on-board cameras. Once connected to the internet, these devices frequently communicate through cloud infrastructure, applications, and servers that may reside outside India.

Recognizing the growing importance of data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty, IHFC, Milagrow, and collaborating development partners will focus on building indigenous software architectures, AI frameworks, and technology ecosystems. These efforts are designed to mitigate data risks while enhancing consumer confidence in connected robotic devices. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to developing trusted technologies that align with India’s vision of technological self-reliance and secure digital infrastructure.

Key Areas of Research & Development

The collaboration will prioritize several key research and development areas:

  • Advanced Floor Cleaning: Development of advanced robotic floor cleaning technologies with enhanced mopping performance optimized for Indian homes.
  • Indigenous Navigation: AI-powered navigation, sensing, and environment-mapping systems developed locally.
  • Health and Hygiene: Smart mosquito catcher technologies designed to improve indoor health and hygiene.
  • Ambient Automation: Intelligent fragrance dispensing and automated environmental solutions.
  • Localization and Affordability: Localization initiatives aimed at reducing manufacturing costs and making advanced robotics affordable for a larger section of Indian households.

Milagrow, which has already invested in assembling select robotic models in India, plans to further strengthen its local production capabilities and progressively develop products that operate within its own secure AI and software ecosystem.

Leadership and Innovation Framework

The collaboration integrates academic research and early-stage entrepreneurship with established industrial infrastructure. IHFC supports industry-relevant innovation through its IHFC Ready Program, which facilitates partnerships between young innovators and established market players to bridge real-world application gaps.

This specific initiative connects the IHFC Ready Program startup, BotDynax Robotics, with Milagrow Humantech to build a collaborative ecosystem capable of transforming innovative ideas into market-ready products. The framework provides innovators with market insights, business mentorship, and scaling opportunities.

At Milagrow, the growth and transformation journey is led by Mr. Amit Gupta, who heads the organization. Gupta is driving the company’s next phase of expansion through new product introductions, AI and robotics education initiatives, strategic R&D investments, and global partnerships. Under his leadership, the company is expanding its capabilities while pursuing long-term global ambitions in service robotics and Physical AI.

Building the Future of Physical AI

The collaboration between IHFC-IIT Delhi, Milagrow Humantech, and BotDynax Robotics marks an important milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a regional hub for Physical AI and intelligent robotics.

By combining academic research, entrepreneurial innovation, and market-driven product development, the partners aim to create technologies that enhance productivity, strengthen digital trust, and make advanced robotics accessible to a broader consumer base. Together, the organizations envision a future where intelligent, secure, and affordable robotic technologies developed in India serve domestic markets and compete successfully on the global stage.

Ashutosh Dutt Sharma CEO of IHFC, said:

This initiative empowers innovators with market insights, business mentorship, and scaling opportunities. This kind of collaboration is the need of the hour which encourages the youth of India to feel empowered and dream big. This collaboration will give young startups such as Botdynax the necessary push to scale up their innovation into a market ready product.

Commenting on the collaboration, Amit Gupta, Head of MILAGROW HUMANTECH, said:

India has immense talent to develop AI and Robotics technologies. We are focused on constantly innovating to develop secure and safe AI & Robotics technologies for our consumers and make everyday life easy, simple, and more productive for them. Through our collaboration with IHFC-IIT Delhi and BOTDYNAX ROBOTICS, we aim to accelerate indigenous innovation and contribute meaningfully towards building a globally competitive robotics ecosystem from India.
