Infinix Smart 20 with 6.78″ 120Hz display, 7.7mm sleek design, 5200mAh battery to launch in India on June 8

Infinix has officially confirmed the launch date for its next budget 4G smartphone, the Infinix Smart 20, in the Indian market as the successor to last year’s Smart 10. According to a dedicated promotional microsite hosted on Flipkart, the smartphone is scheduled to debut on June 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST.

Positioned as a successor to the brand’s previous budget offerings, the Smart 20 focuses on balancing entry-level affordability with updated display tech, structural durability standards, and hardware improvements.

Design and Physical Profile

The Infinix Smart 20 transitions to a modern flat-frame aesthetic featuring a 7.7mm ultra-slim structural profile and an overall weight of 198 grams. The back of the device utilizes a premium 3D Texture Composite Panel, which is designed to minimize fingerprint smudges while providing a firmer, more comfortable physical grip. Infinix has confirmed that the phone will be accessible in four color options at launch: Sunlike Orange, Cloudline Blue, Shadow Black, and Polaris Titanium.

Display Capabilities

On the front, the device carries a large 6.78-inch punch-hole IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution. Notably for this market segment, the panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate to enable smoother system animations and UI transitions.

The display relies on a 4-level self-adaptive refresh system that adjusts dynamically according to active onscreen tasks to preserve battery lifecycle. Additionally, the screen is rated for up to 700 nits of High Brightness Mode (HBM), improving text readability under harsh outdoor lighting conditions.

Hardware and Performance Metrics

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate chipset. This processor layout is intended to comfortably manage day-to-day productivity apps, casual browsing, and standard media consumption. The core storage configuration includes 4GB of physical LPDDR4X RAM, expandable virtually by an additional 4GB via Infinix’s “Memory Fusion” feature. In terms of storage, consumers will have choices between 64GB and 128GB baselines, with dedicated microSDXC slot expandability allowing up to an extra 2TB.

Infinix has paired the internal hardware with a 48-Month Fluency certification, indicating software optimizations intended to mitigate performance degradation over extended ownership periods. The software experience runs on XOS 16 built over the Android platform, which integrates dedicated AI processing via the “One Tap Infinix AI” configuration. This framework handles built-in operations such as standard text query translation, voice processing, and direct document scanning via the Folax assistant.

Battery and Durability Ratings

The unit relies on a 5,200mAh high-capacity battery pack, supporting up to 15W wired charging speeds over a standard USB Type-C interface. The system also supports a 5W reverse wired power delivery system, allowing users to charge smaller peripheral items.

For structural durability, the Smart 20 features an IP64 water- and dust-resistance rating, shielding it against dusty environments and light rain or splashes. The chassis has undergone standard reliability tests, maintaining operational status against physical drops from up to 1.5 meters.

Integrated Communication Utilities

The Infinix Smart 20 introduces an isolated “Ultra Link” communication protocol, designed to support direct offline text or voice calling utilities up to a maximum distance of 1 kilometer without relying on active cellular tower coverage. For cellular voice call quality, the device includes hardware-assisted multi-mode Noise Cancellation integrated with Voice Print Noise Reduction technologies to isolate localized environmental interference.
