motorola edge 2026 with 6.3″ 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7450, IP69 ratings announced

motorola has announced the latest iteration of its smartphone lineup for the North American market: the motorola edge – 2026 as the successor to last year’s model. Designed to balance premium features with everyday durability, the new device introduces updated AI capabilities, a refreshed camera layout, and a ruggedized compact frame.

Design and Durability

The motorola edge (2026) features an ultrathin, lightweight profile tailored for portability. For this generation, motorola is introducing a PANTONE Martini Olive colorway, which features a textured, twill-inspired finish on the back panel.

Despite its slim footprint, the device has been engineered to meet rigorous durability standards:

  • IP68/IP69 Ratings: Offers protection against dust, dirt, sand, and submersion in water.
  • MIL-STD-810H Certification: Meets military-grade standards for resistance against drops, environmental shocks, and extreme conditions.
  • Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i: Protects the display, providing twice the scratch and drop resistance compared to previous glass standards.
Quad-Lens Camera System with AI Integration

motorola has upgraded the imaging system on the 2026 model, integrating a multi-lens rear array alongside automated AI software to optimize photography without requiring manual adjustments.

  • Main Camera: A 50MP sensor powered by the Sony – LYTIA™ 710. It includes Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and supports 4K video recording, delivering four times the resolution of standard 1080p video.
  • Ultrawide & Macro Lens: A 50MP ultrawide sensor with a 122° field of view for landscapes, which also functions as a Macro Vision camera capable of focusing 4x closer to a subject than a standard lens.
  • Telephoto Lens: A 10MP 3x telephoto camera equipped with OIS. Combined with AI-driven Super Zoom, it can reach up to 30x digital magnification.
  • Front Camera: A 50MP selfie camera optimized for high-contrast, sharp portrait photography.
AI Photography Features

The camera hardware is supported by the Photo Enhancement Engine, an AI utility operating in the background to automatically adjust color, texture, and brightness while mitigating image noise. Additional software tools include Action Shot for stabilizing moving subjects, Adaptive Stabilization for minimizing camera shake during video capture, and Frame Match, a feature that allows users to lock a composition framework before stepping into the shot.

Performance, Processing, and Storage

Under the hood, the motorola edge (2026) runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7450 processor, built on an efficient 4nm architecture designed to manage high-resolution video playback, file transfers, and mobile gaming smoothly.

For software convenience, the device supports user-selected AI assistance, allowing owners to choose between moto ai, Google Gemini, or Perplexity as their primary virtual companion.

Display and Audio

The smartphone features a 6.3″ Extreme AMOLED display utilizing “Super HD” resolution, which offers a 13% increase in pixel density over standard 1080p Full HD displays.

To improve outdoor viewability and navigating smoothness, the display includes a 120Hz refresh rate alongside a peak brightness of up to 5200 nits—marking a 15% improvement over the display brightness of its predecessor.

On the audio front, the phone is equipped with dual stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos® technology, aiming to deliver enhanced depth and spatial separation whether listening via the device speakers or connected headphones.

Battery Life and Charging

The motorola edge (2026) houses a 5000mAh battery, which motorola rates for up to two days of standard use on a single charge.

The device supports multiple fast-charging protocols:

  • 60W TurboPower™ Wired Charging: Able to provide a day’s worth of power in approximately 7 minutes of charging time.
  • 15W TurboPower™ Wireless Charging: Refuels the battery to operational levels in roughly 34 minutes.
