ASUS today announced the ASUS Pad (T3201), signaling the company’s return to the tablet category after a hiatus of several years. Running on the Android 16 operating system, the new tablet is positioned as a versatile companion device, balancing premium display technology and refined portability with intelligent ecosystem connectivity.
The ASUS Pad (T3201) aims to serve a wide range of everyday scenarios, from high-quality entertainment and casual gaming to digital note-taking and cross-device productivity.
Immersive Entertainment and Dual-Layer OLED Display
The centerpiece of the ASUS Pad (T3201) is its 12.2-inch 2.8K dual-layer OLED display, featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The dual-layer architecture stacks two OLED emission layers, a design choice engineered to improve power efficiency and extend panel life compared to traditional single-layer OLED displays. The panel delivers a typical brightness of 600 nits and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring color consistency and sharp detail.
To accommodate extended viewing sessions, the display features a 92% screen-to-body ratio and holds TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light emissions and flicker-free performance.
For audio, the tablet is equipped with a quad-speaker system tuned with Dolby Atmos®, delivering a 360-degree spatial audio experience with enhanced dialogue clarity and low-frequency depth.
Ultraportable and Durable Design
Designed for high mobility, the ASUS Pad features a slim 6.5mm profile and weighs 523 grams. Its physical construction utilizes a lightweight magnalium chassis paired with a fiberglass back cover, providing structural rigidity and durability without adding unnecessary bulk.
The compact form factor is specifically engineered for a “carry-anywhere” lifestyle, facilitating smooth transitions between home, office, campus, and travel environments.
Performance, Connectivity, and Battery Life
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, fabricated on a 4nm process to balance performance with power efficiency. The hardware configuration includes 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. Wireless connectivity is supported by WiFi 6E and Bluetooth® 5.3, ensuring high-speed internet access and lower latency for cloud-based applications.
The device is backed by a high-capacity 9,000 mAh battery designed to sustain mixed daily workloads. It supports 45W USB-C® fast charging, which can replenish the battery to approximately 50% capacity in about 30 minutes.
Intelligent User Experience and Ecosystem Integration
The ASUS Pad (T3201) integrates software and AI productivity tools to expand its utility beyond standard standalone operation:
- ASUS GlideX: Enables cross-device workflows between the tablet and PCs, supporting screen sharing, file transfers, and multi-device multitasking.
- Google AI Integration: Includes Circle to Search, allowing users to look up information directly from on-screen content without switching apps, alongside Google Gemini features for AI-powered assistance.
- Convenience & Security: Features biometric Face Login for hands-free access and a dedicated microSD slot supporting up to 1TB of storage expansion.
The tablet also supports the ASUS Pen 2.0 for precise sketching and handwriting, alongside compatibility with Bluetooth® keyboards for a traditional typing setup. A protective case is included in the box to ensure everyday durability.
