At its ecosystem product launch event, Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone after teasers. It is positioned as a premium, large-screen device with a huge battery.
The Xiaomi 17 Max features a 6.9-inch ultra-narrow, four-sided straight screen integrated into a four-curved wraparound frame with ultra-elliptical large rounded corners. The smartphone is available in three colorways: White, Sky Blue, and Pixel Black.
Key Display Specifications
- Technology: SuperPixel technology, which Xiaomi states delivers clarity comparable to a 2K display while maintaining higher power efficiency than standard 1.5K screens.
- Brightness: Utilizing M10 luminescent material, the “Super Sunlight Screen” reaches a peak brightness of 3,500 nits.
- Durability: Protected by third-generation Dragon Crystal Glass, which reportedly improves drop resistance twentyfold.
- Refresh Rate & Dimming: The panel supports a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. It defaults to full-brightness DC-like dimming and offers a switchable 2160Hz PWM dimming mode.
Battery and Charging Capabilities
The Xiaomi 17 Max delivers the longest battery life of any Xiaomi smartphone to date. It is equipped with an 8,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang Battery featuring a 16% silicon content and an energy density of 894Wh/L.
The charging infrastructure includes:

Leica-Branded Camera System
The device features a Leica triple-lens rear camera system tailored for both high-resolution photography and versatile focal lengths.
- Primary Camera: Features Xiaomi’s first Leica 200-megapixel main sensor ( optical format). It incorporates an ultra-high transmittance pyramid coating and supports 200-megapixel multi-frame fusion computational photography.
- Telephoto Camera: Utilizes a periscope design with a sensor, offering a 3x “golden portrait” focal length, 6x optical lossless zoom, and a 15cm macro close-up capability.
- Video Capabilities: Supports high-definition live streaming with a default ultra-high-definition 4K output.
Performance and Additional Features
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. To manage thermal performance during sustained workloads, Xiaomi has implemented a three-dimensional ring-shaped cold pump heat dissipation system optimized specifically for the device’s large form factor. In internal testing, the system maintained full frame rates in Genshin Impact at maximum graphics settings for up to 5.7 hours.
Additional hardware features include stereo dual speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and Xiaomi Star Communication connectivity.
