Lenovo has unveiled the new generation Legion Y70 smartphone during its Lenovo Tianxi AI All-in-One Multi-Device All-Scenario New Product Super Night launch event. The latest iteration of the gaming-focused device introduces updated display technology, a new processor, and expanded battery warranty terms.
Hardware and Display
The new Legion Y70 features a 6.82-inch 2K gaming display with a pixel density of 510 PPI. According to Lenovo, the screen reaches a global brightness of 2100 nits and a peak brightness of 7000 nits. It supports a 1-144Hz adaptive refresh rate and covers 100% of the P3 color gamut.
Internally, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. For network connectivity, the smartphone introduces quad-SIM dual-standby capability, utilizing a configuration of dual physical SIM slots combined with dual eSIMs.
Battery and Thermal Management
The device is equipped with an 8000mAh “Star Ring” battery, supported by 90W Super Flash Charge technology. Lenovo states the battery has a theoretical lifespan of up to seven years. The phone also supports bypass power supply, a feature that allows the device to draw power directly from the charger without routing through the battery, minimizing heat generation during intensive use.
Lenovo is backing the device with a four-year battery warranty, which includes a free battery replacement if the unit’s health drops below 80% within that timeframe.
To manage system temperatures, the Y70 employs a triple heat dissipation system that combines thermal gel, liquid metal, and a vapor chamber (VC). The handset also features comprehensive environmental protection, carrying IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings against dust and water ingress.
