Telegram update brings Guest Bots, bot-to-bot communication, AI automation, and more

Telegram has introduced a new update adding AI-focused bot features, expanded automation options, and multiple usability improvements across the platform. The update enables deeper bot integration in chats, new automation controls for users and admins, and enhancements to search, polls, and moderation tools.

Guest Bots

Bots can now be mentioned in private or group chats without being added as members. Users can call a bot using its @username, and it will respond within the same chat.

  • Bots process only the specific message they are tagged in
  • No access to full chat history or participant list
  • Responses appear directly in the conversation thread
  • Supports tasks such as answering queries, generating text or images, and fact-checking
Bot-to-Bot Communication

Bots can now interact with other bots, allowing automated systems to exchange messages and coordinate workflows without user involvement.

Streaming Text Responses for Bots

Bots can send responses in real time as they are generated instead of waiting for full completion. This enables continuous message updates during processing.

Chat Automation in User Profiles

Users can connect bots to their Telegram profile to handle messages automatically.

  • Users can define which chats the bot can access
  • Options include excluding contacts or limiting to new chats only
  • Feature is managed through Settings > Chat Automation

Custom AI Styles in Text Editor

Users can create personalized writing styles using prompts in the Telegram text editor.

  • Styles can be used for formatting posts or messages
  • Each style has a shareable link for preview and reuse
  • Other users can apply or test styles directly

Expanded Emoji and Sticker Search

Telegram has expanded search for stickers and emojis across a large user-generated library.

  • Supports search in 36 languages
  • AI-based indexing improves discovery of content
  • Works through the sticker panel search function
  • Stickers can also be created via built-in tools or @Stickers Mini App

Poll Statistics

Polls in groups and channels now include interactive vote graphs for admins after reaching at least 100 votes.

Custom Poll Restrictions

Channel admins can restrict poll participation.

  • Limit to subscribers only
  • Restrict based on user country
  • Applied through poll settings options

Silent Scheduled Messages

Scheduled messages can now be sent without notifications.

  • Activated through schedule message settings
  • Useful for reminders or timed updates without alerts

Reaction Removal Tools

Group admins can now remove reactions from users for moderation control.

  • Remove individual reactions or all reactions from a user
  • Accessible via message reaction controls
