Infinix GT 50 Pro with 6.78″ 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, Dimensity 8400 Ultimate, Pressure-Sense GT Triggers, 6500mAh battery announced

Infinix has officially unveiled the GT 50 Pro, a newly designed smartphone targeting the mobile gaming market as the successor to the GT 30 Pro. Positioned as the foundational device of the company’s “New GT Ecosystem,” the GT 50 Pro focuses on integrating physical controls, advanced thermal management, and software optimization to improve mobile gaming performance.

Hardware and Core Specifications

The GT 50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate, a 4nm chipset operating at up to 3.25GHz. It incorporates the MediaTek Frame Rate Converter (MFRC) to stabilize and interpolate GPU frames during intensive applications. Connectivity is managed by an in-house N1 network chip designed to reduce latency and stabilise signal strength during online play.

Physical Controls and Design

A prominent feature of the GT 50 Pro is its “Open-Cut Pressure-Sense GT Trigger” system. These dual-pressure mechanical shoulder buttons aim to replicate console-grade controls on a mobile device.

  • Trigger Functionality: The triggers feature dual-stage pressure sensing, allowing for light, heavy, and sliding inputs.
  • Customization: Users can configure up to four mapping points per trigger and adjust between 10 pressure sensitivity levels.
  • System Shortcuts: Outside of gaming, sliding the triggers can activate screenshots, screen recordings, memory cleanup, or summon the Folax AI assistant.
  • Aesthetics: The device features an aerodynamic design with a transparent “Pipeline Window Display” that showcases the internal liquid cooling flow. It also includes an integrated RGB lighting system called Mechanical Light Waves, featuring 14 lighting scenarios and 8 customizable colors.
Thermal Management

To address device overheating during extended use, Infinix has implemented hardware and accessory-based cooling solutions.

  • HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture: The internal system utilizes a micro-pump liquid cooling network with a 6437mm² diaphragm. A piezoelectric-driven ceramic heat pump circulates coolant at a rate of 6.5ml per minute, directly drawing heat away from core components.
  • GT Magcharge Cooler 2.0: As an optional accessory, this external cooler features 12W of active thermoelectric refrigeration. It supports wireless bypass charging, which routes power directly to the motherboard rather than the battery, thereby reducing internal heat generation and preserving battery health.
Display, Audio, and Imaging

The multimedia experience is built around a 6.78-inch 1.5K display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It supports a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz and features 2304Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain. Audio is delivered via stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, offering directional sound critical for spatial awareness in competitive gaming.

For photography, the GT 50 Pro is equipped with a 50MP main sensor utilizing both OIS and EIS for stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP front-facing camera. The camera system is supported by Infinix’s AI RAW algorithm for improved signal processing and color accuracy.

Software Optimization and AI Integration

Running on XOS 16, the device includes several software features tailored for gamers:

  • Hardcore Esports Mode: A dedicated mode that optimizes the UI, restricts system gestures, and blocks notifications to prevent interruptions.
  • Native 144FPS Support: Certified to run major esports titles, including Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, at a smooth 144 frames per second.
  • AI Enhancements: Features include AI Smart Trigger for automating in-game macros, AI Voice Prompt for real-time strategy alerts, and AI Magic Voice Changer for multiplayer communication.
The New GT Ecosystem

The GT 50 Pro serves as the hub for several newly announced peripherals:

  • GTBUDS 5: Wireless earbuds featuring Dolby Atmos, sub-50ms latency, and 50dB hybrid active noise cancellation.
  • GTWATCH 5 Pro: A smartwatch with an independent GNSS positioning chip, automatic workout detection, and the ability to act as a secondary screen to manage notifications without interrupting gameplay.
  • GT Game Controller: An upcoming accessory designed to improve ergonomics and provide enhanced haptic feedback.
