HUAWEI introduced the Pura 90 Series, which includes the Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Pro Max, in its home market, China, today. The launch comes alongside the HUAWEI Pura X Max, the industry’s first horizontally foldable phone.
Pura 90
The Pura 90 follows a melody-inspired design with flowing lines and a lightweight form factor. It comes in Roland Purple, Snowy White, and Velvet Black.
It features a 6.8-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution of 2856 × 1320 pixels. The display supports 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1.07 billion colors, and P3 wide color gamut. It is protected by Kunlun Glass.
It is powered by the Kirin 9010S processor with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The device is equipped with a 6500mAh battery with 100W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless SuperCharge support.
The Pura 90 does not support XMAGE and instead uses Red Maple Imaging for colour processing, natural colour reproduction, and accurate light and shadow rendering.

Xiaoyi AI assistant enables voice-based interaction, offering real-time responses, guidance, voice-based photo editing, and image generation. It also includes Xiaoyi Time Machine for memory albums and travel journals, along with comic-style story generation from photos.
The system adds interactive mascot characters along with dynamic wallpapers and immersive themes for a more personalized interface experience.
Connectivity & Audio
The HUAWEI Pura 90 Series supports dual SIM functionality across all models with physical SIM support included, while eSIM support is available only on the Pura 90 Pro Max. The Pura 90 and Pura 90 Pro do not support eSIM, and audio across the series is supported by Huawei Histen stereo sound effects.
It includes Beidou satellite messaging for off-grid communication in remote areas, useful for trekking, travel and emergency situations, along with Outdoor Exploration Mode that offers:
- Maps support
- Compass support
- Route tracking
- Return navigation assistance
- Signal prediction for outdoor safety
- Emergency rescue support features
The series also integrates security tools, including StarShield Anti-Fraud mode for scam protection, scam call detection alerts, remote call hang-up control for family safety, and encrypted sharing with time-limited access without backup storage of sensitive data.
