Garmin and Giant Bicycles India form strategic retail partnership

Garmin, a global manufacturer of GPS-enabled wearables and cycling technology, has entered into a strategic retail partnership with Giant Bicycles India.

This collaboration integrates Giant’s established presence in the Indian cycling market with Garmin’s specialized equipment for ride tracking, navigation, endurance monitoring, and training analytics.

The initiative aims to make advanced performance technology more accessible to cyclists by offering both brands within a unified retail environment.

Initial Retail Rollout

In the first phase of this partnership, Garmin’s product ecosystem is now available at select Giant retail locations in Mumbai, Pune, and Jaipur.

This retail integration allows customers visiting these locations to explore Garmin’s performance technology alongside Giant’s range of bicycles. The shared space is designed to facilitate informed purchasing decisions, enabling riders to evaluate both the primary equipment and the supporting technological accessories simultaneously.

Integrating the Cycling Ecosystem

While Giant supplies the bicycles utilized by competitive and enthusiast riders, Garmin brings a comprehensive suite of hardware designed to support cyclists before, during, and after their rides.

The Garmin products introduced into Giant retail spaces include

  • Cycling Computers & Bundles: Advanced devices featuring bike-specific mapping and detailed performance monitoring, bundled with Heart Rate Monitors (HRM), as well as speed and cadence sensors.
  • TACX Indoor Trainers: Systems that complement Giant bicycles by allowing cyclists to mount their bikes indoors. These trainers replicate outdoor terrains and training conditions for indoor sessions.
  • Performance Metrics Hardware: Power meters and power pedals designed for in-depth training analysis.
  • Safety and Lighting: Smart bike lights integrated with rearview radar systems that alert riders to approaching vehicles from behind.
  • Media and Wearables: 4K ride recording cameras, alongside GPS smartwatches and performance trackers tailored for endurance and fitness goals.
Market Context

The partnership aligns with the steady growth of the cycling sector in India. Demand is notably increasing in urban markets, driven by the rise of community riding groups, endurance events, and a shift toward performance-focused training.

By placing data-driven tools directly within Giant’s retail network, both brands aim to supply serious cyclists, fitness-focused riders, and aspirational enthusiasts with the equipment necessary to improve ride planning, safety, and overall performance.

Commenting on the partnership, Deepak Raina, Director, AMIT GPS & Navigation LLP., said:

Data has become central to how cyclists understand and improve their performance. Access to accurate ride metrics, training insights, and navigation information helps riders make better decisions and measure real progress over time without compromising on the safety on roads by increasing situational awareness. Through our partnership with Giant Bicycles India, we are bringing reliable, data-driven technology closer to cyclists at the point where they invest in their riding journey.

Adding to this, Varun Bagadiya, Director, Giant Bicycles India, said:

We are pleased to partner with Garmin, a brand synonymous with precision and performance. Offering Garmin’s full product portfolio at our stores allows us to deliver a more comprehensive experience to cyclists, supporting them not just with world-class bicycles but also with advanced performance technology.
