After rumours, motorola has officially introduced the moto g67 and moto g77, the company’s latest smartphones in the ‘g series’ for the global markets.
These devices aim to bridge the gap between mid-range pricing and premium functionality, focusing on upgraded camera hardware, display brightness, and ruggedized durability.
The new entries prioritize photography through distinct sensor configurations:
- Moto G77: Features a 108MP main camera, a first for the moto g series, including 3x lossless zoom for high-detail captures.
- Moto G67: Utilizes a 50MP Sony LYTIA™ 600 sensor with Quad Pixel technology, optimized for low-light performance.
Both smartphones integrate moto ai features such as Auto Smile Capture and an enhanced Portrait Mode. Additionally, the devices come equipped with Google Photos editing tools, including Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur, allowing for post-capture refinements.
Display and Visual Performance
Both models feature a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED display, which Motorola identifies as the brightest ever in the moto g family. Key visual specifications include:
- Resolution & Brightness: A 17% increase in resolution over previous models and 5x the peak brightness.
- Refresh Rate: A 120Hz refresh rate for smoother navigation and gaming.
- Eye Safety: SGS-certified low-blue-light technology to minimize ocular strain during long periods of use.
Durability and Design
Motorola has reinforced these models with military-grade durability standards. The exterior is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i, which claims double the drop and scratch resistance of previous iterations.
- Environmental Protection: An IP64 rating ensures high-level dust resistance and protection against water splashes.
- Thermal Range: The hardware is designed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C.
- Aesthetics: The devices feature a soft-touch finish and are available in Pantone-curated colors, such as Shaded Spruce, Black Olive, Arctic Seal, and Nile.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the devices are powered by Dimensity 6300 and 6400 chipsets, respectively paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage depending on the markets.
To support heavy usage, Motorola has included a 5200mAh battery. When charging is required, TurboPower 30 technology provides rapid power recovery. On the audio front, the dual stereo speakers are Dolby Atmos® enhanced and Hi-Res certified, offering a reported 300% increase in volume compared to the previous generation.
Software and Productivity Tools
The moto g77 and moto g67 run on the Hello UX interface, which includes Moto Secure for data protection. The devices also leverage Google’s latest AI ecosystem:
