FUJIFILM India has announced the launch of the instax mini Evo Cinema, expanding the instax Evo hybrid instant camera lineup in India. The model supports video capture and era-inspired creative effects while maintaining instant photo printing functionality.
instax mini Evo Cinema hybrid instant camera
The instax mini Evo Cinema is a hybrid instant camera that allows users to preview images on a rear LCD display and select specific shots for printing. Along with still photography, the camera supports short video recording, extending instax use beyond static images.
Recorded videos can be converted into QR codes and printed alongside a still frame extracted from the video on instax mini film. Scanning the QR code using a smartphone allows the video to be replayed within an instax-style frame or downloaded, enabling videos to be shared through physical instant prints.
When paired with its dedicated smartphone app, the camera can also be used as a smartphone printer, allowing users to print images stored on their phones. With this integration, the instax mini Evo Cinema operates as a combined still camera, video camera, and instant printer.
Key Features
- Rear LCD display for framing and reviewing shots
- Dedicated app support with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity
- Ability to combine multiple video clips into a single video of up to 30 seconds
- Poster-style print templates with customizable text
- Direct printing of images stored on a smartphone
- Included viewfinder accessory for alternative shooting style
- Grip attachment for improved handling and stability
Creative Effects, Design, and App Experience
The instax mini Evo Cinema introduces the Eras Dial, offering effects inspired by different decades, including a 1960s-style 8mm film look and a 1970s CRT television texture. Each era effect includes adjustable intensity levels and applies both visual textures and audio characteristics such as noise, tape flutter, and mechanical sounds during recording.
The camera adopts a vertical grip design with a black and gray finish, inspired by Fujifilm’s FUJICA Single-8. Physical elements such as the clickable Eras Dial and the Print Lever are designed to replicate analog film operation. The design supports shooting via the rear monitor or with the included viewfinder accessory.
The dedicated app allows users to view transferred videos and still images on a smartphone, edit content, and apply cinematic opening and ending templates. Users can also design poster-style instax prints and print smartphone images directly through the camera.
