HONOR just introduced the HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design smartphone in China, as it had promised.
The phone comes in Slate Gray and Moonstone and features the classic Porsche sleek lines inspired by supercars, and the back cover is made of microcrystalline nano-ceramic, touted as “the only real ceramic in the market .”
It has a Mohs hardness of 8.5 and an A0-grade mirror polish, giving it a “warm and smooth” feel. The phone is 10% lighter, and the design of the rear camera module is inspired by the classic Porsche matrix headlights.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, with up to 24GB of 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory, supports HONOR Hongyan Communication, covering both Tiantong and Beidou satellites. The phone has HONOR Giant Rhino glass, and supports IP68+IP69K dust and water resistance.
It also supports the professional imaging kit, which includes a magnetic camera grip for a better holding experience, which the company says is “comparable to a DSLR”. The phone case has a 67mm filter adapter ring and can also be fitted with a 200mm Nox telephoto lens, which uses a Kepler lens architecture to bring better telephoto image quality.
The phone also features the AiMAGE color engine, which can restore the colors of the real environment through multi-camera and multi-sensor fusion calculation. AI can be integrated into white balance adjustment and pure color detection. The image stabilization engine is CIPA 6.5 certified , which can make the picture more stable and is said to “not blurry even when handheld for 3 seconds with the main camera and telephoto lens”.
The phone has 7200mAh silicon-carbon battery, supports 120W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging, and is compatible with the 100W PPS universal fast charging protocol.
