Airtel Cartoon Network Classics launched on Digital TV

Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of “Airtel Cartoon Network Classics,” a new value-added service introduced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery. Exclusively available on Airtel Digital TV, the service is designed to provide subscribers with access to a dedicated library of legacy animated content.

Programming and Content

The new channel focuses on a catalog of animated franchises established during the 1990s and 2000s. The programming lineup includes several well-known titles from the Cartoon Network archives, such as:

  • Tom and Jerry
  • The Flintstones
  • Looney Tunes
  • Scooby-Doo
  • Johnny Bravo

The service aims to cater to two distinct demographics: adult audiences seeking nostalgic content and families wishing to introduce these franchises to younger viewers. The content is broadcast without advertisements.

Pricing and Availability

The service is available to Airtel Digital TV subscribers under the following terms:

  • Channel Number: 445
  • Subscription Cost: ₹59 per month
  • Languages: English and Hindi

The channel is compatible with a wide range of Airtel hardware, including connected set-top boxes (such as Xstream and IPTV) as well as standard non-connected HD and SD boxes. Airtel notes that subscribers can access the channel without requiring additional equipment upgrades.

Strategic Context

According to the company, this collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery is part of a broader strategy to expand Airtel’s portfolio of value-added entertainment services. By offering exclusive access to specific content libraries, the telecommunications provider aims to enhance its content leadership and provide diverse viewing options for family audiences.

Activation Methods

Subscribers can activate the Airtel Cartoon Network Classics service through three primary channels:

  1. Directly through the set-top box interface.
  2. By giving a missed call to the designated activation number.
  3. Via the Airtel Thanks app.

The activation process is designed to be immediate, allowing users to access the content shortly after subscribing.
