BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 monitor light bar with ASYM-Light technology launched in India

BenQ has launched the ScreenBar Halo 2, a next-generation monitor light that provides balanced desk illumination, reduces glare, and enhances visual comfort without shining directly on the monitor or user’s eyes.

Following four years of research and user testing, the ScreenBar Halo 2 is now available in India. It is designed for professionals, creators, and gamers working in dim or variable lighting conditions who need consistent, balanced illumination across their workspace.

The Halo 2 combines a dual-light system with a triple-curvature backlight design, offering 423% wider coverage than its predecessor. This ensures the lighting between the screen and surroundings is balanced, reducing visual fatigue and helping maintain focus during long work sessions.

The controller has been redesigned for precision and ease of use. The anti-fingerprint wireless dial allows smooth adjustment of brightness (0–100%) and color temperature (2700K–6500K), making it suitable for tasks such as color grading, content creation, or late-night work.

Features of ScreenBar Halo 2
  • ASYM-Light™ Optical Technology – Directs light at an 18° asymmetrical angle to the desk instead of the screen, eliminating glare and reflections.
  • Motion Detection – Ultrasonic sensor powers the light on when the user returns and turns it off after inactivity.
  • Auto Dimming – Adjusts brightness automatically to match ambient lighting conditions.
  • Memory Settings – Stores personalized lighting preferences for convenience.
  • Triple-Curvature Backlight – Provides wider desk coverage for uniform illumination.
  • Research-Backed Design – Developed with input from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology; maintains a screen-to-surrounding luminance ratio of no more than 3:1 based on ANSI standards.
  • Refined Aesthetic – Co-designed with MINIMAL Design by Scott Wilson, featuring a minimal metallic finish that complements BenQ PD, RD, MOBIUZ, and MA monitor series.

The mounting system features a redesigned zinc-alloy clamp that supports a wide range of monitors, from ultra-thin to curved, resting gently on the screen instead of clipping on to prevent damage.

The Halo 2 is easy to install and operate. It attaches to the monitor, connects via USB, and automatically adapts to user presence and surrounding light conditions.
