Amazon today announced a collaboration with Xbox to bring cloud gaming to select Fire TV devices in India. With this, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play hundreds of console-quality titles directly on their TV without a console. This comes following Microsoft’s recent expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India.
Play Xbox Games on Fire TV
The integration allows gamers to enjoy titles from the Xbox library, including new releases like Hollow Knight: Silksong and local favourites such as Raji: An Ancient Epic. All you need is a compatible Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube, a Bluetooth-enabled controller, and an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
How to Set Up
Getting started is easy. Follow these steps:
- Check your device: Ensure you have a Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, or Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen).
- Download the app: Open the Amazon Appstore on your Fire TV and download the Xbox app.
- Sign in: Launch the app and sign in with your Microsoft account. Existing Game Pass subscribers will have instant access, or you can subscribe starting at Rs. 499/month.
- Connect a controller: Pair a compatible Bluetooth controller such as Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense, or DualShock 4.
- Start gaming: Once connected, browse the Game Pass library and start playing your favorite titles immediately.
The company, on its announcement, emphasized that Xbox Game Pass on Fire TV lets you play your favorite games directly on your TV without a console. It highlights the flexibility and portability of the service, allowing you to move your setup between TVs or take it on the go, with saved game progress following you.
