HUAWEI Mate 70 Air with 6.9″ display, sleek design surfaces

HUAWEI is set to expand its high-end Mate 70 series, which first debuted in November of last year with the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Pro+, and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN models. Nearly a year later, the company is now preparing to introduce a new addition to the lineup, dubbed the HUAWEI Mate 70 Air.

Key details of the forthcoming device have surfaced prematurely on the China Telecom website, a common source for reliable leaks ahead of official announcements. The listing, associated with the model number SUP-AL90, provides a first look at the phone’s core specifications.

According to the listing, the Mate 70 Air will feature an expansive 6.9-inch FHD+ screen with a 1920×1200 pixel resolution. It is expected to launch in three distinct colorways: Golden Black, Feather White, and an intricate-sounding Gold Silver Brocade. The phone will be available in two memory and storage configurations: 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, and a 12GB RAM version with 512GB of storage.

Interestingly, the device is listed as running HarmonyOS 5.0. This is notable because HUAWEI is scheduled to officially unveil its next-generation HarmonyOS 6 at a major event in China tomorrow, October 22nd. While the China Telecom listing reveals these specifications, other details, such as the phone’s thickness, processor, and camera setup, have not yet been revealed.

The HUAWEI Mate 70 Air is expected to be introduced sometime in early November. We should know the exact launch date in the coming weeks.
