CMF Headphone Pro with up to 40dB Adaptive ANC, LDAC, up to 100h playback announced

Nothing just announced the CMF Headphone Pro, the company’s first CMF-branded headphones, as it had promised. The new device features a modular design, tactile controls, high-resolution audio support, and adaptive noise cancellation.

Design and Customization

The CMF Headphone Pro is built with a focus on customization, featuring replaceable and removable ear cushions that allow users to mix and match colors. The headphones are equipped with several physical controls for audio and call management. An “Energy Slider” is included for adjusting bass and treble levels.

A “Roller” control manages volume with rotation, plays or pauses music with a short press, and toggles Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with a long press. Additionally, a configurable “Button” can be set as an AI shortcut to access services like ChatGPT, switch between ANC modes, or manage the microphone.

The headphones are available in three base colors: Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Light Green, with additional ear cushion colors sold separately.

Audio and Noise Cancellation

For audio fidelity, the Headphone Pro is equipped with 40mm custom dynamic drivers. It supports the LDAC codec and is Hi-Res certified for both wired and wireless listening, with a maximum data rate of up to 990 kbps. The device also incorporates Personal Sound technology, powered by Audiodo™, which adjusts the audio output based on the user’s hearing profile.

The headphones feature 40dB Adaptive ANC, which utilizes three hybrid microphones with Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) to improve voice clarity during calls. The system includes an Adaptive ANC mode and a Transparency Mode, both designed to adjust noise filtering based on the surrounding environment.

Performance and Connectivity

The battery is rated for up to 100 hours of playback with ANC turned off and up to 50 hours with ANC enabled. The headphones support fast charging via USB-C, providing 5 hours of playback from a 5-minute charge. They can also be charged directly from a compatible smartphone.

Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4, and the headphones support Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick device pairing. A low-latency mode is available, designed to reduce audio delay to under 120 milliseconds for gaming and video playback. The headphones are rated IPX2 for water resistance.

Additional features include Spatial Audio, which is optimized with Cinema and Concert modes to simulate a 3D sound experience. Users can customize controls and manage features, including the ChatGPT integration, through the Nothing X application.
