HONOR has confirmed the launch of HONOR Magic V5 foldable phone on August 28th at an event in London, after it was introduced in China last month.
Ahead of the event, the company said that HONOR is now the fastest-growing book-type foldable OEM in Europe in 2024, having tripled its market share from 11% to 34%, based on Counterpoint Research report.
The report also forecasts strong growth for the European foldable market, with foldables expected to reach nearly 10% of premium smartphone sales in the region by 2028.
The company has revealed that it will come in Ivory White, Dawn Gold and Black colours for the global market, and added that it will support Magic Pen. It shows the phone’s 8.8mm sleek design. It is also the lightest foldable at 217 grams.
The global version will come in single model with 5820mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It will come with IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, 64MP 3x periscope telephoto camera and will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
There is a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner display (2352×2172) and a 6.43-inch outer OLED screen (2376×1060), both with 120Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision, up to 5000 nits peak brightness and up to 4320Hz High Frequency PWM dimming.
