Amazon Echo Show 5 3rd Gen with 5.5″ display, Alexa built-In launched in India

Amazon has launched the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display with Alexa in India. This latest model features a refreshed, compact design with a 5.5-inch screen protected by infinity cover glass and rounded edges. The updated interface offers an improved viewing experience, including better visibility in low-light conditions.

With the Echo Show 5, users get quick weather updates, on-screen control of compatible smart home devices, and live viewing of supported security camera feeds. Its camera includes Amazon’s “Drop In” feature for remote monitoring and video calls with contacts using Echo devices or the Alexa app. It also works with video doorbells and facilitates announcements across multiple Echo devices at home.

With its 1.7-inch rear speaker, the Echo Show 5 offers twice the bass and improved vocal clarity compared to the earlier generation, the company said. This upgrade enhances streaming of music, podcasts, and audiobooks from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Audible. The device also supports multi-room music when paired with other Echo devices.

Alexa’s hands-free voice commands assist users in setting timers, reminders, checking calendars, and managing lists. It also controls compatible smart home devices such as lights, ACs, fans, TVs, cameras, and geysers, with additional touch controls available on the screen.

Powered by the AZ2 Neural Edge processor, the device offers faster performance and improved voice recognition through an enhanced microphone array. Privacy features include a camera shutter, microphone mute button, and options to manage voice recordings via the Alexa app.
