Nothing just launched the Nothing Headphone (1), the company’s first over-ear headphones, as it had announced. It has a transparent design, similar to the other Nothing headsets and the Nothing phone, feature 40 mm dynamic driver, built with high linearity suspension and an 8.9 mm PU surround.
It features up to 42dB hybrid Active Noise Cancellation that scans the surroundings every 600 ms, adapting in real time, while a dedicated
wear-detection system tracks noise leakage between the ear-cup and ear canal every 1875 ms. There is also Transparency Mode, Adaptive bass enhancement, spatial audio and dynamic head tracking for a 360˚ experience.
The Headphone (1) is acoustically engineered in partnership with KEF, an audio pioneer with over 60 years of expertise in high-fidelity sound. The Drivers, chambers and software are audited in KEF’s labs, then refined across ANC, Transparency and Spatial Audio, said the company.
Nothing said that the device is put through over 50 rigorous reliability tests; including drops, twists, sweat, and extreme temperatures to ensure long-term resilience. It is IP52-rated for dust and water resistance. This uses Roller, Paddle, and Button for controls such as volume, media navigation, and switch Active Noise Cancellation modes.
The headphones feature AI-powered Clear Voice Technology to isolate your speech and suppress background noise, and is trained on over 28 million real-world scenarios. It has LDAC, USB-C audio, and a 3.5 mm jack. There is HiRes Wireless certification and 24-bit/96kHz precision.
The Headphone (1) promises up to 35 hours of playback with Active Noise Cancellation on, and 80 hours with ANC off. A quick 5-minute charge will offer up to 2.4 hours of listening with ANC ON.
