Sony has scheduled its Xperia product launch event on May 13th in which the company is expected to launch the new Xperia 1 VII flagship smartphone. Sony already confirmed that it will launch new Xperia phones powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite Mobile Platform in 2025, so we can expect the chip in the flagship.
The phone recently surfaced in Geekbench listing with the model number XQ-FS54 confirming Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 12GB of RAM and Android 15 for the phone.
The phone was certified by the US FCC recently, revealing dimensions of 162 x 74.5 x 8.5mm, which will make it slightly thicker. This also revealed 4850mAh minimum / 5000mAh typical battery for the phone, same as the predecessor.
Based on rumours, the 6.5-inch display size is said to remain the same, and the phone is said to pack a 48MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP periscope telephoto camera (70-200mm focal length) and a 12MP front camera.
The Sony Xperia launch event on May 17th will start at 11AM JST (7:30 AM IST), and there is a live premier.
