Nokia phones might soon get HD Video Recording soon.

If you wonder what HD is , HD – Hi Definition Video – 1080p which is a video resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This is the quality of video you would experience on a Blu-ray DVD

ST-Ericsson who is a supplier of chips to Nokia announced a partnership to provide next-gen smartphone platform for the symbian foundation.

ST-Ericsson’s U8500 single chip will be provided to Nokia under than partnership

Unique features of this Chip

HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) which will enable multimedia 3G Smartphones.

The chip is the first device enabling full High-Definition 1080 progressive-scan camcorder functions, which might bring HD Video Recoding to Nokia phones in the near future

The chip also features a high-end 3-D graphics accelerator.
