HTC U Ultra Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out

HTC was one of the first OEMs to confirm Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for some of its top-end devices. After rolling out Android Oreo update for the HTC U11 and HTC 10 smartphones, the company has started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the U Ultra smartphone starting from Taiwan. Some users are also reporting that the update is available in India as well. The changelog is simple that mentions Android 8.0 (Oreo) update and system enhancements.

Android Oreo comes with lots of new features and improvements including Background limits, Notification channels, snooze notifications, Autofill APIs, Picture in Picture (PIP) display, Adaptive icons, Wide-gamut color for apps, Support for high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec, Companion device pairing, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio, WebView enhancements, Java 8 Language APIs and runtime optimizations and much more.

The HTC U Ultra v2.19.709.2 / 2.19.400.1 Android 8.0 update is 1.32GB in size and also includes Android security update patch for January 1, 2018.
