Honor Magic Hands On and Photo Gallery

Huawei’s Honor announced Magic smartphone at an event in China. We were live at the event and got a chance to get our hands on the phone. Let’s take a detailed looks at the hardware and specifications of the phone.

The Honor Magic sports a 5.09-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED 3D curved glass display. It is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 x A72 + 1.8GHz 4 x A53) 16nm processor. Running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Honor Magic Live OS, the phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It has a slim and curved design.

There is a 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and earpiece. Also present is a WiseScreen Sensor Magic intelligent sensor. When you pick up the phone, the sensor on phone frame and the front infrared camera recognize your hand and your eyes, putting the phone into action by activating the screen. When you put down your phone, or place it in your pocket, the screen goes off in one second. It has FaceCode Intelligent Recognition so new message notification will only reveal itself for pre-registered faces to ensure users’ privacy.

At the bottom of the display it has a home button which comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor. DeepThink lets you Press and hold the home button so it will offer multi-facets information based on the current webpage you visit. The home button lets you navigate around, such as unlock the phone, return to previous page, browse history and return to the home screen, simply by touching, double tapping or swiping on the same key.

Power button and volume rockers are present on the right side. There is nothing on the left side. It measures 146.1×69.9x 7.8 mm and weighs 145 grams. There is a secondary micro phone on the top.

A 3.5mm audio jack, Dual SIM card tray, USB Type-C port and loudspeaker grill are present at the bottom.

It has dual SIM support with unique SIM tray with slots on both the sides.

At the back the phone has a 12MP dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 2900mAh built-in battery with support for Magic Charge fast charging technology that can charge up to 70% with just 20 minutes of charge and 90% in just 30 minutes.

There is also a case cover for the phone that looks like a purse. The Honor Magic comes in Golden black and Porcelain white colors, is priced at 3699 yuan (US$ 532 / Rs. 36100 approx.) and will be available for order in China starting from December 16th. Hopefully it will come to India in future.
