Skype for Android update brings web link previews in chats and lets you sign back in easily

Skype has updated its Android app with a couple of new features. The latest update which bumps the app to version 5.5 brings previews of web links to chats and also makes it easier to sign back in once you are logged out.

Skype for Android now remembers your login details, including your password that makes the sign in easier. With just one tap on the arrow, Skype will save your login credentials so that you can immediately start using the app. Users who are not comfortable with Skype saving their password, can even change the setting from the Settings menu in order to add password every time to log in.

Moreover, the update is bringing rich preview of web links in chats to Android. Available on Mac and iOS since April, the feature shows you a visual summary of links sent right in your chat interface. Last month Skype rolled out “Click to Call’ feature that allows users to make a call from their desktop client. In April, the app received animated emoticons along with bubble style chat that brings it in line to that of the desktop client and iPhone app.
