Xiaomi Redmi 2 vs Redmi 1S Photo Gallery


Xiaomi announced the Redmi 2 smartphone in China last month. It is a budget smartphone from the company that supports 4G LTE connectivity. We have seen the unboxing and photo gallery of the phone and now lets compare the phone with Xiaomi Redmi 1s in this photo gallery.

Redmi 2 has a 4.7-inch HD screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC. Running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with MIUI 6 on top, the phone comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, micro SD support up to 32GB. On the other hand Redmi 1S has 4.7-inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor with Adreno 305 GPU. Running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) based MIUI ROM, it has 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, micro SD card up to 64GB.

Redmi 2 has a 2MP front-facing camera that supports 720P HD video recording and earpiece at the center. Redmi 1S has a 1.6MP front-facing camera.

Both the device have three red capacitive buttons below the display for menu, home and back.

Both the devices have volume rockers and the power button present on the right side of the phone.

The 3.5mm audio jack is also present on the top of both the phones.

Micro USB port and primary microphones are present at the bottom of both the phones.

Redmi 2 has 8MP rear camera with LED Flash with Omnivision sensor and supports 1080p video recording. Above the camera there is a secondary microphone while the loudspeaker grill is present on the right side of the camera lens. Redmi 1S also has 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1.4ųm sensor, 1080p video recording.

The back covers of both the phones are removable and have Mi branding at the lower end.


Redmi 2 comes with a 2200mAh removable battery while the Redmi has 2000mAh battery. Redmi 2 has 2 SIM card slots and a micro SD card slot above the battery. Both the SIM cards support 4G LTE that includes TDD B40 2300MHz and FDD B3 1800MHz bands for India. Redmi 1S comes with two regular SIM card slots and a microSD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colors and is priced at 699 Yuan, which is about Rs. 7,000 while the Redmi 1S was launched in Grey color in India and is priced at Rs. 6,999.
