Samsung Gear S Unboxing

Samsung launched Gear S (SM-R750), the company’s first smartwatch based on Tizen Wearable platform in India priced at Rs. 27,900. It has SIM support and lets you make or receive calls directly without connecting it to a smartphone. You can even connect it to a smartphone to receive notifications from it. We saw the hands-on impressions and the photo gallery of the smartwatch back in September from IFA. Here we have the unboxing.

The Samsung charging cradle for the Gear S actually has a 350mAh built-in battery to power up the smartwatch while on the go.

The Gear S has a 2 inch (360 x 480 pixels) curved Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core processor, has 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The Gear S has IP67 certification for Dust and Water Resistance. Apart from 3G and Bluetooth 4.1 support, it also has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and A-GPS/ GLONASS support. Built-in GPS lets you use it for several apps such as Nike+ Running App. It has several set of sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Ambient Light, UV and Barometer.

There is a SIM card slot, Heart Rate sensor and charging pins on the back. It has 300mAh Li-ion battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life.
