Android 8.0 Oreo adoption rate now at 0.5%, Nougat adoption hits 23.3%

Google like every month is again out with Android distribution numbers for the month of November. The latest operating system; Android Oreo has hit the adoption rate to 0.5% and the company has just started rolling out the Android 8.1 update which hasn’t entered the adoption list.

The Nougat adoption rate has now climbed to 23.3% against the 20.6% in November. Android 6.0 Marshmallow though has seen a downfall from November (30.9%), the OS still is leading the pack with 29.7%. Lollipop adoption rate is down from 27.7% from November to 26.3%, which is surprisingly close to marshmallow even in 2017.

Moving along, the KitKat adoption which was at 13.8% in November is now at 13.4% which is not a very big change. Jellybean stands at 5.9% from 6.2%. Gingerbread and Ice cream sandwich are at 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively. All the data is collected from the devices that visited the Google Play Store during a 7-day period ending on December 11th, 2017, according to Google.
