BBC launches Top Gear: Race the Stig game on iOS, Android and Windows Phone

We brought you information yesterday that it had sold its Zite news reader application to Flipboard and today, we have contrasting news as BBC has just announced a new game – Top Gear: Race the Stig across popular smartphone platforms – iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

The game was developed by British studio – Supersonic Software and it is being published in the stores by publisher Mastertronic on all platforms simultaneously. The game is follows the recent trend of endless racing and allows the players to take their racer through a high speed journey through some of the very popular Top Gear locations. The users will have to collect Golden Nuts across the terrain all the while jumping, ducking and dodging obstacles and other vehicles.

The game is complete with some of the famous cars – Richard Hammond’s beloved Oliver, Jeremy’s Italian police car, complete with Ben Hur wheels and James’ Amphibious Triumph Herald and the developer has confirmed that new content will be added regularly in the future.

Speaking on the occasion of the game launch, Grant Dean, Head of Top Gear Games at BBC Worldwide said, “We’re delighted with Top Gear: Race The Stig as we believe it brings the brand to mobile and tablet gaming like never before. It’s an exciting time for Top Gear fans and gamers alike.”
