During a joint screen technology communication conference held alongside Visionox and Tsinghua University, Luo Feng, Vice President of iQOO Products, confirmed that the upcoming iQOO Neo12 will officially launch at the end of October as the successor to last year’s Neo11.
The presentation slides displayed during the event confirmed the device’s release window with the phrase “See you in October.”
The Neo12 is positioned to work alongside iQOO’s numbered digital flagship line under a dual-flagship market strategy, emphasizing high-end display innovations and gaming performance.
Display Innovations
The iQOO Neo12 will debut several screen technologies developed jointly with Visionox and Tsinghua University:
- 2K 185Hz Super Crown Screen: Industry-first integration of 2K resolution paired with a 185Hz ultra-high refresh rate utilizing pTSF technology.
- Driver & Luminescent Materials: Incorporates a dedicated 2K 185Hz high-performance driver chip and new “Sky Mirror” luminescent material.
- Brightness & Optical Characteristics: Reaches a full-screen peak brightness of 2200 nits, supports 1 nit minimum brightness for low-light viewing, self-developed XDR dynamic range enhancement, and Circularly Polarized Light Display 2.0 to reduce eye strain and power consumption.
Core Hardware and Cooling
The device is built on flagship-tier processing and power systems:
- Processing Platform: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform combined with iQOO’s self-developed Q3 gaming chip.
- Performance Tuning: Managed by the next-generation Monster Hyper-Core Engine.
- Thermal Management: Utilizes an “Ice Dome” active air-cooling system equipped with an internal cooling fan.
- Battery & Charging: Houses a 9000mAh single-cell “Blue Ocean” battery utilizing fifth-generation silicon anode technology, delivering an energy density of up to 916Wh/L.
Gaming Capabilities and System Features
A core focus of the device lies in high-frame-rate rendering and display synchronization:
- Frame & Resolution Scaling: Industry-first concurrent 2K and 185FPS super-resolution and super-frame processing.
- Software Support: Native support for 2K ultra-high-definition gaming profiles alongside compatibility with over 50 native 185FPS game titles.
- Graphics Enhancements: Full-scene hardware-accelerated ray tracing, specialized game visual filters, dedicated in-game camera tooling, glare protection, and the same Q-flex touch control technology featured in the flagship iQOO 16 line.
Build and Design
- Chassis: Metal middle frame construction with a square camera deco layout on the rear.
- Biometrics: Equipped with an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for device authentication.
The iQOO Neo12 is scheduled to make its full commercial debut before the end of the month, where final retail pricing and regional availability details are expected to be announced.
