UltraProlink has announced the Fire Shield Fire-Resistant Safety Bag for storing and transporting compatible power banks, lithium-ion batteries, LiPo batteries and portable battery packs. It can also be used to store selected valuables and personal essentials.
The Fire Shield uses a three-layer construction comprising silicone-coated fiberglass, fiberglass fabric and an aluminum foil inner layer. It also includes:
- LiPo-safe thermal shield
- Fire-resistant stitching around the bag
- SGS and UL94 verified safety performance, according to UltraProlink
- Dual secure closure with water-resistant protection against incidental moisture and accidental spills
- Compact design for carrying in luggage and backpacks
The bag stores most compatible power banks up to 25,000mAh, along with suitable lithium-ion batteries and portable battery packs. Users should check the physical dimensions before purchase to ensure a suitable fit. It can also hold passports, credit and debit cards, important documents, jewellery, gold and other small valuables at home, in an office, in a vehicle or while travelling.
For air travel, the Fire Shield is designed to store and transport compatible power banks and lithium batteries. The DGCA highlights the safe handling, storage and transport of power banks and devices with lithium batteries of more than 100Wh. Passengers should follow the latest applicable DGCA regulations and their airline and airport requirements, as the Fire Shield does not replace these requirements.
UltraProlink says the Fire Shield helps reduce the spread of fire caused by a power bank or lithium-ion battery and minimize risk during storage and transport. However, it does not guarantee complete fire containment and is not a substitute for appropriate fire-safety measures.
