motorola is reportedly preparing its first wide foldable smartphone, internally referred to as “razr flex” and codenamed “Parker.” Android Headlines has reported the phone’s specifications and shared unofficial mockups based on leaked sketches, the reported specifications, and motorola’s current design language.
The reported specifications of motorola’s wide foldable include:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, up to 3.8GHz
- RAM and storage: 12GB RAM and 256GB non-expandable storage; other variants are possible but not confirmed
- Displays: 6.92-inch OLED main display with 1728 × 2364-pixel resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision; 4.97-inch OLED cover display with 1736 × 1140-pixel resolution
- Battery and charging: 5,000mAh dual-cell battery, 25W Qi2 wireless charging and USB-PD wired charging; wired charging speed is not known
- Cameras: 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide rear cameras, with up to 30x digital zoom through the main camera
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio, nano SIM and eSIM
- Protection and software: IP48 and IP49 ratings and Android 17
- Other: Power/lock button with an integrated fingerprint scanner and a dedicated physical AI key
- Dimensions and weight: 110 × 149 × 5.8mm unfolded, 110 × 76 × 12.6mm folded, and 215 grams
The reported dimensions make the phone shorter and narrower than the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The unofficial mockups show a horizontal rear camera bar with two cameras, buttons positioned high on the right side, a centered camera hole on the cover display, and a top-right camera hole on the inner display.
Both displays are expected to have uniform bezels, although the mockups do not accurately represent them. The reported 6.92-inch inner display is also smaller than the 7.6-inch display on the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Expected launch
motorola is reportedly targeting a mid-December launch, although the timing could change. The phone is expected in PANTONE Coriander and PANTONE Dark Botanical Garden colors.
The unofficial mockups are based on leaked sketches, reported specifications, and motorola’s current design language. Pricing has not been reported, and motorola has yet to officially confirm the reported specifications, final design, or launch date.
