CMF Clip Pro open-ear earbuds with LDAC announced

CMF has officially introduced the CMF Clip Pro, entering the open-ear earbud market with a focus on long-term comfort, ambient awareness, and distinct industrial design, almost two years after the launch of the Nothing Ear (open). Engineered for urban commuters, active users, and professionals, the earbuds aim to deliver clear audio without isolating the listener from their surroundings.

Ergonomics and Wearability

The Clip Pro is designed around long-duration comfort, utilizing a 3-point Clip Design that distributes pressure across the ear rather than concentrating it in a single area.

  • Weight: 5.9 grams per earbud for a lightweight fit.
  • C-bridge Construction: Built with an elastic titanium wire core wrapped in skin-friendly materials, designed to flex and adapt to various ear shapes.
  • Acoustic Pod: Features an optimized listening ball shaped to reduce ear contact while directing audio efficiently into the ear canal.
Audio Performance and Signal Processing

Open-ear designs often face performance hurdles with low-end frequencies. CMF addresses this by combining custom hardware with targeted DSP optimizations:

  • Hardware: Equipped with a 10.8 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver tuned for balanced vocals and detailed highs.
  • Ultra Bass Technology: An intelligent algorithm that boosts low-frequency output while mitigating treble distortion to counter natural acoustic dispersion.
  • Codec & Audio Support: Hi-Res Audio Certified, supporting LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs for high-bitrate wireless streaming on compatible devices.

Microphone System and Acoustic Privacy

To support clear calls in noisy surroundings and limit sound spillage, the Clip Pro incorporates specialized hardware and software controls:

  • Microphone Array: Integrates 4 HD microphones alongside a VPU-powered Clear Voice Technology system to isolate the user’s voice from ambient noise (wind, traffic, crowded environments).
  • Sound Seal System: Intentionally manages mid and high frequencies to minimize audio leakage to nearby people. Settings can be toggled exclusively for calls or applied to all media via the Nothing X app.

Physical Controls and Case Functionality

The Clip Pro brings CMF’s signature physical control elements to both the earbuds and the charging case:

  • Smart Dial (Charging Case): A tactile rotating dial integrated into the case that allows users to adjust volume, control playback, manage calls, and initiate pairing without operating the paired smartphone.
  • Physical Earbud Controls: Tactile buttons on the earbuds themselves offer reliable inputs during workouts or when wearing gloves.
  • Color Options: Available in Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Coral.
