Display, Hardware and Design
The OPPO K14 sports a 6.75-inch (1604 x 720 pixels) HD+ flat LCD screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display is bright, since it has a brightness of 1125 nits.
You can select from vivid and Pro screen color modes. Moving from an OLED to an LCD screen is inferior.
The phone has a tiny punchhole that houses an 8-megapixel camera. Above the display, there is an earpiece on the top edge that works as a secondary speaker. There is a small chin below the screen.
Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button that integrates the fingerprint sensor, and and the volume rockers are present on the right. The hybrid dual SIM slot that accepts a second SIM or microSD card that supports up to 1TB expandable memory is present on the left. The primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grill are crammed in the bottom. The phone doesn’t have a secondary microphone on the top.
The phone has a flat plastic back with a matte finish offering a solid in-hand feel, thanks to its boxy design, but it might be slippery.
In addition to the Prism White color that we have with a fragment geometry, it also comes in Prism Violet and Icy Blue colors. The phone weighs 212 grams. It has IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance compared to IP65 ratings in the predecessor.
Camera
- 50MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture
- 2MP portrait sensor with f/2.4 aperture
- 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture
The camera UI in ColorOS 16 is familiar. You get Night mode, Hi-Res, Panorama, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Dual-View video, Underwater, Sticker, and DOC Scanner.
Daylight shots were good, but I wish it had a bigger sensor and a larger aperture for better low-light camera performance. Even though there is up to 10x zoom, the quality degrades when you go beyond 4x. The secondary camera is a depth sensor for portraits, so the portrait shots have good edge detection.
There are AI features such as AI clarity enhancer, AI unblur, AI reflection remover, and AI eraser. The night mode is useful, and the 8MP front camera is decent. Check out some camera samples.
It can record videos in up to 1080p 60 fps from the rear, and the front camera can record 1080p 30 fps videos. It doesn’t have OIS, but EIS does a decent job. The phone doesn’t have portrait video recording that was present in the K13.
Software, UI and Apps
The OPPO K14 recently got Android 16-based ColorOS 16 with the Android security patch for April 2026 even though it was shipped with Android 15-based ColorOS 15. The phone will get 2 Android updates and 3 years of security updates, matching the K13. ColorOS 16 brings fluid performance, AI enhancements, and a clear, consistent interface across devices.
ColorOS 16 features a light field design inspired by natural light and shadows, using gradient blur, halo effects, particles, and glow for realistic feedback. Flux Home Screen lets you reshape app folders with dynamic layout adjustments; you can resize and reposition icons, cards, and folders dynamically, match icon colors automatically with wallpaper tones, and more. In the Photos app, there is Ai recompose, Ai eraser, 4K enhance clarity, unblur, and remove reflections. However, you don’t get Ai call summary, Ai writer and other features.
Out of 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, you get 7.6GB of usable RAM, and about 3GB of RAM is free when default apps are running in the background. It also has a DRE, or dynamic RAM expansion, feature, which uses the built-in storage as RAM. This has up to 16GB of additional RAM expansion.
Out of 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, you get about 221.51GB of free storage. In addition to Google apps, it comes preloaded with FinShell Pay, Netflix, Snapchat, PhonePe, LinkedIn, and Spotify apps. It doesn’t have an IR blaster, which was present in the K13, so there is no remote app.
Fingerprint sensor and Face unlock
It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that unlocks the phone quickly when you place the fingerprint. You can add up to 5 fingerprints. You can also use the fingerprint for local apps and payments in apps.
Furthermore, you can change the fingerprint animation and also disable it and also enable the quick launch option to launch apps directly from the lock screen by holding the fingerprint. The phone also has a face unlock feature.
Music and Multimedia
It has customizable Smart, Movie, Game and Music modes. It doesn’t have FM radio support. Audio through the stereo speakers is good without any distortion even at full volume. Audio through earphones is good as well.
This has Widevine L1 so that you can play HD content on streaming apps. However, there is no HDR support in the display, so you don’t get HDR in any streaming apps or YouTube, which is a bummer.
Dual SIM and Connectivity
The OPPO K14 has support for several 5G bands. It has VoWi-Fi, 5G VONR and VoLTE, with support for Carrier Aggregation on 4G. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, and GPS / GLONASS/ Beidou. There is no NFC support.
Moving on, the call quality is good, and we did not face any call drops and the earpiece volume was loud. You get the default OPPO dialer with call recording and OPPO messaging apps.
The OPPO K14’s body SAR is 0.893W/Kg and head SAR is at 1.138/Kg that is well under the limit in India, which is 1.6 W/kg (over 1 g).
Performance and Benchmarks
The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, similar to the predecessor. It uses TSMC N6 (6nm-class) process. It has 2 x Arm Cortex-A76 big cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 6 x Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, clocked at 2GHz.
The Arm Mali-G57 MC2 can handle casual games like Subway Surfers and games like BGMI in low graphics but can’t handle high-end games like Genshin Impact. It even has 3900mm² Vapor Chamber for cooling that you rarely see in phones in the price range.
In 3D Mark wild life stress test, it scored 98.4%, which is good. The temperature increased from 29 to 32 degrees, which is not much. That said, check out some synthetic benchmark scores below.
Battery life
Coming to the battery life, the phone packs a 7000mAh (typical) battery, same as the K14. It can easily last for a day, even with heavy use on 5G and for 2 days with typical use. The battery has five-year durability, helping preserve long-term battery health and maintain consistent performance across the years, said OPPO.
I got over 7 hours of screen time with 2 days of use, both on 5G and Wi-Fi. Since the phone has support for 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, it can charge up to 100% in about one and a half hours, and a 50% charge takes about 40 minutes. There are smart charging and the option to stop charging at 80%, and the smart rapid charging can charge the device faster if the battery is too low.
Conclusion
The OPPO K14 5G is a bit of a curveball in the mid-range segment. While it makes impressive strides in durability and endurance, it takes a noticeable step back in terms of raw hardware and display quality compared to its predecessor. It feels less like a traditional “upgrade” and more like a pivot toward users who prioritize a phone that can survive a drop in the pool and stay powered for days.
The addition of an IP69 rating and a massive 7000 mAh battery makes this a “tank” of a device in the sub-Rs.20,000 category. However, the decision to revert to an HD+ LCD screen and use the entry-level Dimensity 6300 SoC is hard to swallow at this price point. If you are a power user or someone who consumes a lot of high-quality HDR content, the lack of an OLED panel and a more powerful processor will be felt immediately.
That said, for those who work in demanding environments or simply suffer from “low battery anxiety,” the K14 5G is one of the most reliable options on the market.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO K14 5G is now selling for Rs. 19,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model; the 6GB + 256GB model costs Rs. 21,999, and the top-end 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 23,999. This is Rs. 2000 more for all the models compared to the launch price.
It is available from Flipkart and the OPPO India online store and offline stores.
Alternatives
The OPPO K13 is still a good alternative in the similar price range if you don’t care about IP69 ratings. The realme P4 is also a good option in the price range.
Pros
- Solid build quality, IP69 ratings
- Excellent battery life
- Decent camera performance in daylight
Cons
- Average performance
- HD+ display with large bottom bezel
