Akai has launched the NXT version of its flagship inverter air conditioners in India. The new lineup includes the Nilgiree, Kaashmir, and Siaachen models, now upgraded with the latest BEE Rating 2026 for energy efficiency. The range is designed to support cooling performance for Indian homes as external tropical temperatures continue to rise.
The launch follows Akai’s legacy and the Japanese Mottainai philosophy of “efficiency is respect.” The Nilgiree series focuses on value-driven cooling for diverse Indian climatic conditions, aiming to balance performance and energy usage while keeping operational costs low.
Akai NXT Inverter Air Conditioner range
The NXT range is designed for different usage conditions across India through three series:
- Nilgiree series – Built for value-conscious users, this range focuses on energy-efficient cooling. It optimizes power consumption while delivering consistent performance across different climatic regions.
- Kaashmir series – A hot and cold inverter AC range designed for year-round usage. It provides cooling during summers and heating during winters for all-season comfort.
- Siaachen series – A heavy-duty AC range designed for extreme summer conditions. It can operate efficiently even when outdoor temperatures reach up to 55°C.
The models are offered in 1-ton, 1.5-ton, and 2-ton capacities with 3-star and 5-star energy ratings.

Pricing and availability
The Akai NXT inverter air conditioners are available across India through retail outlets and online via Akaiindia.in. The range starts at an MRP of Rs. 35,490 onwards.
