GoPro has announced the MISSION 1 Series, a lineup of compact cinema cameras designed for filmmakers, creators, and enthusiasts. The series introduces 8K and 4K Open Gate recording, a new 50MP 1-inch sensor, and the GP3 processor. It is built to deliver high-resolution capture, improved thermal efficiency, and extended runtime performance in compact form factors for demanding shooting conditions.

The lineup consists of MISSION 1 PRO, MISSION 1, and MISSION 1 PRO ILS with interchangeable lens support.

Flagship model supporting 8K60, 4K240, and 1080p960 video in 16:9 format, along with Open Gate recording and 50MP photo capture.
MISSION 1 PRO Grip Edition
PRO model bundled with a modular grip that functions as a handheld support system and protective mounting cage.
MISSION 1 PRO Creator Edition
Bundle including Media Mod expansion, Volta 2 battery grip, and Wireless Mic Complete Kit.
MISSION 1 PRO Ultimate Creator Edition
Advanced bundle with AI stabilization system, Light Mod 2, Wireless Mic Kit, and Media Mod expansion support.

The MISSION 1 Series is built around a new imaging system that combines a 50MP 1-inch sensor with a GP3 processor based on a 5nm architecture. The sensor uses 1.6µm native pixels and 3.2µm fused pixels, enabling up to 14 stops of dynamic range and improved low-light capture.
The processor integrates an AI Neural Processing Unit to support real-time image processing, thermal efficiency, and high-resolution video workflows including up to 8K60 recording and advanced slow-motion output.
The system also enables Open Gate recording for full sensor capture and supports professional-grade color tools for flexible post-production editing.

The cameras integrate with the GoPro Quik application for automated editing and cloud workflows. The system supports automatic upload when charging over Wi-Fi and generates AI-based highlight videos with music and transitions.
Editing tools allow trimming, cropping, filters, and overlays directly from the app. Subscription plans provide expanded cloud storage, unlimited backup, and enhanced workflow automation with wireless transfer support between camera and mobile devices.
Pricing and availability
The MISSION 1 Series will be available for pre-order starting May 21, with global availability from May 28.
