Along with the F8 Pro, POCO has also introduced the F8 Ultra, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, at an event in Indonesia. The phone features a 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED flat screen with 1.5mm on three sides and 1.68mm on the bottom, peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, 120Hz refresh rate, has support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, full brightness DC dimming, 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and 12-bit 68.7 billion colors.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, and has independent upgraded VisionBoost D8 chipset that leverages pre-trained AI models to dramatically enhance image details and deliver high-quality graphics.
This offers Smart Frame Rate up to 120 FPS, Super Resolution up to 1.5K, and Game HDR. It also introduces AI Super Resolution through its new GEX module, specifically optimized for five popular titles, including Call of Duty: Mobile and Honkai: Star Rail. In performance tests, an RPG game sustained 4.5 hours of play at 120 FPS with AI Super Resolution and Game HDR on, showing no drop in performance or visual quality.
The phone has LiquidCool Technology with 3D dual-channel, dual-layer IceLoop system. The first layer features a larger convex surface aligned with the mainboard, while the second layer has a smaller convex surface dedicated to the SoC, and the dual-loop design also accounts for heat from the camera module. Combined with a 6700 mm² IceLoop System, this system efficiently disperses heat, ensuring consistent performance during long sessions, said the company.
The F8 Ultra features 1115F ultra-linear, symmetrical dual speakers, working in conjunction with an oversized, ultra-large 1620 independent woofer, create a 2.1-channel audio system, delivering a more stable sound image, deeper bass, and a wider soundstage. Users can experience deep bass, rich details and immersive soundstage, said the company.
The phone has triple rear cameras with a 50MP 1/1.31″ Light Fusion 950 sensor with OIS, Xiaomi AISP 2.0, 13.5EV movie-level high dynamic range, same as the Xiaomi 17, has a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera with 30cm macro option, a first for POCO. It has IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
It is housed in a rounded-corner chassis with a middle frame, camera deco, and lens barrel crafted from aluminum alloy. The Denim Blue variant showcases a tech-chic, youthful aesthetic, crafted with Xiaomi’s third-generation nano-tech material for durability, dirt and wear resistance, and an eco-friendly touch. The Black variant features a glass fiber construction with a matte-gloss finish, offering both elegance and a secure grip.
The phone has a 6500mAh battery, the largest ever in POCO F series complemented by 100W HyperCharge that takes 38 minutes to charge to 100%, and there is also 50W wireless HyperCharge.
