HUAWEI today expanded its True Wireless Stereo (TWS) lineup with the FreeBuds Pro 5, launched in China. The earbuds feature a “Star Ring” design with a diamond-engraved surface around a sound-focused ring and a charging case finished with a smooth excimer film coating.
The Sky Blue variant adds a vegan leather case with a 3D deep-curved surface, resistant to scratches and fingerprints, while all variants are built for durability. The in-ear structure has been redesigned using data from over 10,000 human ears for a lighter and more comfortable fit, with four silicone tip sizes improving stability, sealing, and comfort during extended use.
The FreeBuds Pro 5 support NearLink StarFlash™ audio, powered by the Kirin A3 chip. The dual-band antenna dynamically switches between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz to maintain stable connectivity in environments such as subways, high-speed trains, and airports.
Compared with traditional Bluetooth, StarFlash delivers 8× higher data rate, 2× wider coverage, and stronger transmission and reception. The earbuds support 4.6 Mbps lossless audio at 96 kHz / 24-bit and are certified for HWA and Hi-Res Wireless Audio.
