The Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses are set to launch in India starting December 1, introducing a new line of performance-focused smart eyewear, after it was introduced back in June. This collection is positioned for athletes, sports enthusiasts, and active individuals.
AI Power Meets Athletic Performance
The Oakley Meta HSTN model is designed to withstand high-intensity activities. Key features focused on performance and durability include:
- 3K camera with a built-in ultra-wide 12 MP sensor for hands-free photo and video capture
- Capture LED light to indicate photo or video recording and ensure privacy
- Open-ear directional Bluetooth speakers for music, podcasts, and calls, while staying aware of your surroundings
- Meta AI assistant for hands-free help: get real-time updates, play music, take photos, send messages, and more by saying “Hey Meta”
- Touch and voice controls to manage playback, calls, and content
- IPX4 water resistance, suitable for rain, sweat, and splashes (charging case is not water-resistant)
- Battery life: Up to 8 hours of typical use, 5 hours of continuous audio, and up to 19 hours standby
- Fast charging: 50% in 22 minutes, 80% in 45 minutes
- The case supplies extended power, lasting up to 48 hours.
- Accessibility support for users with reduced vision, hearing, or mobility, with voice control and Be My Eyes network integration
- Device compatibility: Android 10+ and iPhone 10+ (iOS 15.2+) using the Meta AI app
Smarter Everyday AI Integration
The glasses integrate Meta AI directly, enabling users to receive real-time insights and hands-free assistance. Users can activate the assistant by simply saying, “Hey Meta.”
A significant feature for the Indian market is the inclusion of full Hindi interaction support with Meta AI. Users can enable Hindi via the Device Settings in the Meta AI app, allowing them to ask questions, control media, make calls, and capture content entirely in Hindi. This feature is powered by Sarvam’s language tools.
New Features for Meta AI
The integrated Meta AI will also feature Celebrity AI Voice, providing responses in familiar, expressive voices. The AI voice of actress Deepika Padukone is among the first celebrity voices available in English for the assistant in India.
Additionally, a new feature is being tested that will allow users to make secure UPI QR-code payments directly from their Oakley Meta HSTN glasses. By looking at a QR code and saying, “Hey Meta, scan and pay,” users will be able to complete a UPI Lite payment via their WhatsApp-linked bank account without needing their phone.

Prices for the Oakley Meta HSTN collection start at Rs. 41,800 and go up to Rs. 47,600 depending on the model.
The glasses are available for pre-order on Sunglass Hut beginning today, and they will subsequently be available nationwide at Sunglass Hut and other major optical and eyewear retailers, with official launch set for December 1st.
