Google has launched a new “Feature Reveals” series for Google Fi Wireless, introducing regular updates designed to address common wireless connectivity issues. The latest update adds AI-driven enhancements for connection reliability, call clarity, app support, and cross-device usability.
Faster connection and clearer calls across devices
Google Fi Wireless now improves connectivity for Pixel users with Wi-Fi Auto Connect+, which automatically connects to premium Wi-Fi networks in crowded indoor environments such as airports and shopping malls. This offers up to twice the reliability of cellular connections alone.
The feature is expanding to millions of new locations, including major U.S. airports like LAX, ORD, and JFK, as well as participating malls and stores. It activates automatically at no extra cost, and connections are secured with automatic encryption. Users can identify the feature by the W+ icon in the status bar.
To enhance call quality, Google Fi will soon introduce AI-enhanced audio, which filters out background sounds such as wind, construction, or traffic. The feature, powered by Google AI, refines voices on both sides of a call — even on landlines or older devices — for more natural conversations. It will roll out in the coming weeks and can be disabled anytime.
Extended connectivity across devices
Google Fi Wireless already provides coverage for select smartwatches, tablets, and laptops at no extra cost. In the coming weeks, users will gain access to web calls and messages, enabling calling, texting, and voicemail access directly from any computer or tablet browser even when their phone isn’t nearby. The upcoming web interface will also feature full RCS support, allowing sharing of high-resolution photos and videos.
AI-powered support and billing summaries
The Google Fi app continues to simplify plan management and automatically detect network issues. The latest update adds AI-powered billing summaries, offering clear explanations of monthly charges, differences from previous bills, and the impact of recent plan changes.
This brings instant clarity within the app, reducing the need to contact support or navigate detailed statements.
Limited-time promotion for new subscribers
To mark the rollout, Google Fi is offering 50% off for 15 months to new customers who bring their own device and join the Unlimited Essentials or Unlimited Standard plan. Details are available on the official Google Fi website.
