realme GT8 series including GT8 Pro with mechanical assembly design to be announced on October 21

realme this week confirmed the launch of GT8 series phones will be introduced in China on October 21st. The company today announced that the GT8 Pro will feature an industry-first mechanical assembly design, allowing for interchangeable lens modules.

Users can replace the phone’s Deco component in three simple steps. By changing the Deco, users can create different designs. It comes with a “round” design, and the “square” design case that are included for the first sale, said the company.

First-time purchases across all channels will receive a free metal square lens decoration and phone case set, providing everything from lens module to protective case, said realme.

In addition to White and Blue, the company has also posted an image of the phone in Green colour that has a different camera deco.

Regarding the design, realme said that no two “Blue” or “Green” are alike. The back panel of the realme GT8 Pro is made of paper-like recycled leather, a unique paper-like texture that leaves each unit with a distinct mark.

  • “Paper-like recycled leather”: a technological rebirth of paper 2.0, certified by the Global Recycling Standard (GRS), environmentally friendly, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, with a smoother feel.
  • “Photon Nano-Engraving Process”: 0.02mm precision, crisp edges, and distinct layers. The entire engraving process generates no additional waste gas or wastewater, demonstrating unwavering environmental commitment.

The realme GT8 Pro will feature the first Ricoh GR imaging system. realme already confirmed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC for the phone. It also said that the phone will feature a 2K 144Hz Sky Screen from BOE that will use customized Q10+ luminous material. The image confirms 200MP periscope telephoto camera. It will run Android 16 based realme UI 7.0 out of the box.

The phone is said to pack a 7000mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. We can expect IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual 115E speakers and an X-axis linear motor.

We should know more details about the realme GT8 series in the coming days before the phone goes official next week.
