HUAWEI has launched the FreeClip 2 open-ear earbuds in China, the successor to the 2023 FreeClip. The open-ear design is left-right agnostic, with three components: the Comfort Bean for fit, the Listening Ball with a new acoustic layout, and a Cloud-Sensation C-shaped bridge of softened liquid silicone and memory metal.
Each earbud weighs 5.1 g and is shaped using data from over 10,000 ear models for optimized fit. The charging case is square and compact, reduced by 17% in size and 14% in weight, with a molded textured surface. Earbuds are rated IP57, while the case is rated IP54.
FreeClip 2 features dual 10.8 mm dynamic drivers (20 Hz–20 kHz), powered by Huawei’s third-generation AI chip and NPU with 10× processing. Features include directional sound, spatial audio, adaptive volume, and voice clarity, with calls supported by a three-microphone DNN noise reduction system.
The device connects via Bluetooth 6.0 and supports SBC, AAC, and L2HC (HarmonyOS 3.0+), excluding LDAC, LHDC, and AptX. Battery lasts 9 hours per charge, up to 38 hours with the case; a 10-minute charge enables 3 hours of playback.
HarmonyOS integration includes AI features such as real-time translation (Chinese and 20 languages), voice assistant, navigation audio prompts, device control, and anti-loss alerts with proximity search and drop detection within 50 meters.
Additional features include touch controls for playback, volume, calls, and voice input, with settings managed through the Huawei Audio app on iOS and Android.

The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 is priced at 1299 yuan (USD 182 or Rs. 16,210 approx.) in China. Pre-sale begins on October 14, 2025, and the official sale starts on October 20, 2025. The earbuds are available in Blue, Sand White, and Black.
