Acer Chromebook Spin 714 and Chromebook Tab 510 announced

At the #NextAtAcer event that happened yesterday, Acer unveiled a premium Chromebook, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714, as well as a ChromeOS-powered tablet, the Acer Chromebook Tab 510, along with a slew of Windows laptops. Let’s take a deeper look at both of the ChromeOS based products. 

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is the company’s premium and convertible Chromebook that boasts 360-degree hinges, a sleek aluminium chassis, and MIL-STD 810H certification, ensuring durability. One note, this model also has an Enterprise version called the Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714. Both versions are Intel Evo certified. 

When it comes to the technical specifications of this Chromebook, it packs a 14-inch 16:10 touchscreen display with a vibrant 100% sRGB colour range and comes in two resolution options: WQXGA (2560×1600) and WUXGA (1920×1200), 12th Gen Intel Core processors (up to Core i7), up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X SDRAM, and up to 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. 

It offers Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a backlit keyboard and an array of ports, including an HDMI port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Further, it has an optional fingerprint reader and an Acer USI stylus that provides 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and provides a battery life of up to 10 hours or up to four hours of usage after a 30-minute quick-charge. 

The Acer Chromebook Tab 510 is a tablet based on Chrome OS that satisfies MIL-STD 810H standards with an impact-resistant chassis, shock-absorbing corner bumpers, and a reinforced design that protects it from drops as high as 122 cm and an Asus USI stylus featuring 4,096 levels of sensitivity.

The Chromebook Tab 510 has a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS LCD screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, is powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform paired with an Adreno 618 GPU, a 5-megapixel MIPI front-facing webcam, and an 8-megapixel MIPI world-facing camera for capturing images.

Furthermore, the tablet comes with up to 64 GB of eMMC storage, up to 4 GB of LPDDR4X SDRAM, dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.0, and offers 10 hours of battery life. You can opt for the 4G LTE version and Keyboard Folio Case if required.

Pricing and Availability: 

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 starts at US$ 749.99 (Rs. 58,132 approx.) while Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714 starts at US$ 1,099.99 (Rs. 85,238 approx.) and  will be available in North America in August.

The Acer Chromebook Tab 510 will be available at a starting price of US$ 399 (Rs. 30,926 approx.) in North America in July.
