Microsoft reports $32.5 billion revenue with 12% YoY growth in Q4 2018, LinkedIn revenue up 29%

Microsoft has announced final quarter results that ended on 31st December 2018. When compared to the last fiscal year, the revenue is increased by 12% resulting in $32.5 billion, operating income is $10.3 billion with an increase of 18%, the net income was $8.4 billion, and the diluted earnings per share were $1.08 GAAP and $1.10 non-GAAP%.

Microsoft returned $9.6 billion to shareholders in the form of dividends and share repurchases in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2019. The revenue in Productivity and Business Processes was $10.1 billion and increased by 13%. The Office commercial products and cloud services revenue increased by 11% driven by Office 365 commercial revenue growth of 34%.

Office consumer products and cloud services revenue increased 1% with growth in Office 365 consumer subscribers to 33.5 million. LinkedIn revenue increased 29% with record levels of engagement with 30% session growth. Dynamics products and cloud services revenue increased by 17% driven by Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 51%. Revenue in Intelligent Cloud was $9.4 billion and increased by 20%.

Windows OEM revenue declined by 5%. The Windows commercial products and cloud services revenue increased 13%. Gaming revenue increased 8% with Xbox software and services revenue growth of 31%. Search advertising revenue excluding traffic acquisition costs increased 14%. The Surface revenue increased 39%.
