Honor 8 Lite Camera Review

Huawei has earned its name in the smartphone market and now turning the spotlight to its online brand — Honor. Under the Honor 8 series, the company has launched the lighter version of the device dubbed as Honor 8 Lite. The Honor 8 Lite has a unique design language that is absolutely worth bragging about. Another feature that stands out on the Honor 8 Lite is its camera.

Honor 8 Lite flaunts a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 1.25um pixel size, and 8MP front-facing camera with 77-degree wide-angle lens made for selfies. Unlike, Huawei P9, the Leica branding is missing here, but that doesn’t mean the camera quality is any less. The magic in terms of image quality tends to continue with Honor 8 Lite as well.

First and foremost, the camera user interface of the Honor 8 Lite is clean, minimal and simple to use. It is so easy that, even starters click pro-shots. On the default camera app, it has toggle for front and rear cameras, different modes (Mono, Impact, ND, Valencia, Original, Blue, Halo, Nostalgia, and Dawn), beauty mode, flash toggle (auto flash, flashlight, turn on/off flash), toggle for image and video camera, shutter button and gallery to view images that are captured recently.

Even though it has a single camera module unlike Honor 8, the images are pretty good. The daylight shots are such a delight to click as it captures the subject naturally without missing any details. While some smartphone cameras struggle to focus, the Honor 8 Lite does this in a fraction of a second, thanks to PDAF! Here are some of the sample images.

Talking about the low light conditions, much to our surprise, the results were satisfactory. It’s worth mentioning here that it captures good images, even in poor lighting condition, thanks to the BSI CMOS sensor with 1.25µm pixels that offers improved low-light performance.

The Honor 8 Lite has an 8MP front facing camera with wide angle lens that indeed captures large details in the background as well. Moreover, the colors and contrast are good that helps us clicking pleasant selfies. It also comes with a beauty mode that softens and blemishes the skin as well.

Overall, the Honor 8 Lite is another product with a good quality that has a blend everything at a minimal cost. For those aspiring mobile photographers, Honor 8 Lite has some serious features/ability to tone your skill set.
