Evernote gets Google Drive integration

In a bid to make it easier for users to capture, organize and collaborate, Evernote is adding Google Drive integration. The integration will allow users to access Drive files from Evernote.

Users can now browse files stored in Google Drive right in Evernote notebooks. With this integration, Evernote customers can add any file in Drive to their notes without leaving Evernote. Changes made to files in Google Drive will automatically update in Evernote. Prior to this, users could only see URL links to files and had to switch between apps.

The update also brings along thumbnail previews and a rich viewing experience for added files. A Google Drive icon is also added to Evernote toolbar for quick access. The beta integration is currently available on Chrome and Android and it will be available on other platforms soon.

Alex Vogenthaler, Group Product Manager for Google Drive said,

Making Drive content available in Evernote was very natural for us. Evernote is a great productivity tool and we want anyone using Drive to have access to their content whenever and wherever they’re trying to get stuff done. That’s the cloud at its best.
